Vacations are highly anticipated, especially when they involve camping. Get the most enjoyment when you go camping next by using the information provided in this article. They will offer great advice you can put to good use on your outdoor adventure!

You might imagine that nature has an inexhaustible supply of firewood, but there might be nothing but wet wood that refuses to burn. Bringing some extra wood in a watertight wrapping is a smart idea for camping success.

When going camping you need to ensure that the tent you build can easily hold you and anybody else that comes along. This assures there is enough sleeping and moving around room.

A jungle breakfest is a great way to add excitement to your trip. Portable foods, such as boxed cereal, juice, and fruit, can be tied to trees. When your kids get up, have them hunt down their breakfast. This is a wonderful way to add fun to their camping enjoyment.

To start your fires at camp, use dryer lint as kindling. Start collecting lint from the filter in your tumble dryer several weeks before your camping adventure. Place a bag near your tumble dryer and just stuff lint from the dryer’s filter into the bag every time it is full. Just grab your bag of dryer lint and go on camping day.

No matter if you are going camping alone, or with a huge group, you need to always bring along an emergency kit. There may be different items in it depending on your camping location, but there are some things that should be in any kit. Species specific antivenom should be packed to protect against animal bites.

Even camping purists may find that having a small luxury item is a good thing. Carry something small and convenient, such as a chocolate bar or some coffee creamer. These small luxuries can really brighten your spirits!

Use specialty camping pillows when camping. Regular bed pillows can become damp if the weather is wet or humid. They also absorb moisture out of the air and can mildew quickly. Pillows made specifically for camping have a protective layer that keeps these things from happening.

It is important that you remember all the camping gear when going on a trip. Forgetting something crucial like your sleeping bag or a fire starter is not something you want to happen. Look over the items you plan to bring and create a checklist before leaving to ensure that all of your essential gear comes with you.

Duct tape is an interesting item to be included in your inventory while camping. Duct tape has numerous uses at a campsite. You may need to patch up a punctured air mattress. Duct tape can also seal other rips, such as ripped tents or sleeping bags. Prior to heading off on a long nature hike, place some tape on your heels to avoid blistering. You can even use it to hold on a makeshift bandage.

It is really critical to make sure that you pack the essential items and equipment for camping. Forgetting a few simple items could be disastrous for your trip. Lists help people know what they need before they go. Some must have items include a tent, sleeping bags, a couple of tarps, food and water, a knife and fire starting supplies.

Prepare for your camping trip thoroughly. It is important to plan, but sometimes unexpected things happen. Someone could get hurt, the weather could change drastically or people could get sick. It’s important that you take care of everything, don’t take risks that you don’t need to, and think things through before doing them.

Always keep some duct tape with you when you’re out camping. While most camping equipment is durable, they can tear or break easily. Duct tape can help to seal holes and rips, and hold important things together when you need them most.

Reading a map and using a compass are two things that should be done before heading out for a camping trip. Although you might know your site, it is still easy to get lost, as many places in the woods look similar. To avoid a potential tragedy, carry a map and compass with you.

Make sure waterproof matches are in your survival kit. Always store your matches in a container or packaging that is airtight. You also can create waterproof matches yourself by taking regular ones and dipping them in nail polish or paraffin. Provide your own caddy for the matches by storing them in a plastic medicine bottle or 35mm film container.

Don’t leave your campsite a mess! Pack trash bags to help the clean up efforts go smoothly. Remove any traces of food from the campsite. The only things you should really be leaving behind at your campsite are your footprints.

When selecting a sleeping bag, make sure it’s season-appropriate. So a lighter bag for summers and a heavier and thicker bag for winter time. During the winter, however, a thick sleeping bag will trap your body heat and ensure that you don’t freeze.

Camping can be a lot more enjoyable and easy if you just know what you’re doing, and hopefully you have learned something here. Enjoy some time off by using this article for your next camping trip and to experience the splendor of nature.
